Peppa Pig is one of the world’s most popular cartoon characters and now the shocking news is on its way to its fans. It is surprising to know that the voice behind Peppa Pig belongs to a medical student. The voice of the schoolgirl pig entertained an entire generation of children.
The 18-year-old Cecily Bloom provided vocals for the cute pig – a cartoon that spawned a billion-pound industry. The voice helped a lot to grow the industry, including a film, theme, park, and merchandise franchise between the years 2006 and 2009.
The schoolgirl Pig loves to jump and play in muddy puddles with her brother George. Cecily Bloom provided vocals between 2006 and 2009 for this cute cartoon character and entertained 150 countries around the world.
The teenager is studying medical sciences at Cardiff University and the fresher hopes to be a doctor one day. Her fans, missed her a lot and said that her voice was the definitive version of Peppa. While studying at Cardiff University, the TV channel offered her to record the vocals for Peppa Pig. She started recording her vocals and this was a highly lucrative part-time job for her.
She didn’t reveal her face, but shared her experience: ‘I was not fond of watching TV, so I had no idea how big the show was – in fact,,hadn’t heard of it.’
Cecily said that she used to go to an acting school named Stagecoach.
‘When I was younger, some people from a TV channel came to our acting school. They started taking auditions and I just went for a bit of fun. But luckily, they liked my audition and I became a part of their project. ‘
‘During the audition, they asked me to read Peppa’s lines from a script into a microphone. I was very happy and the experience of recording my vocals in a recording studio was pretty cool. I didn’t have any idea that the show is going to be a blockbuster.’
Bloom says that the whole team was very supportive and they always made filming a great fun job. It was strange for her when people started asking her for an autograph after recognizing her voice. I tried my best to hide it, but Peppa’s fans always never took a minute to find it.
‘I enjoyed voice acting, but I never thought to choose it as my career. People ask me to do Peppa, but now it’s not possible for me. I want to focus on medical studies because I think it will be a rewarding career.’
